About Wellton Way
Claes Wellton, the CEO at Wellton Way – a person often written about
After having tried a number of different occupations for a 10 year period, such as working as a radio & TV technician,
care taker for mental patients, air force pilot and police officer, Claes Wellton (CW) started his career as an
entrepreneur and company leader in 1968.
CW have during the last 35 years started more than 20 companies. Companies that have been successful and profitable,
despite the fact that most have had a very modest start-up capital and have grown organically. It is worth
mentioning that CW, as a company leader, never have shown an end of year loss; except in the R&D company
Wellton Way AB. Furthermore, he has twice started and managed companies that have become Sweden’s fastest
growing companies.
Wellton Way has, despite being an R&D company, been awarded a price for being the second fastest growing high-tech
company in Sweden during the years 2001-2003.
CW’s entrepreneurial record basically contains “everything”. From having started his first
company Lottaperuker in 1968, a company which sold wigs and false hair, to contributing to ending
Televerkets monopoly in Sweden through his company CPO Telecom. He built the worlds first factory for
the manufacturing of low radiation computer monitors in Taiwan during 1986 and 1987, his company PCQT
developed and manufactured computers for military use during the years 1990 to 1991. The company
Impdata (1985-1991) became Sweden’s fastest growing company during a number of years. LapPower
(1991-1998), which became a well-known public company also became an award winning company as it
was Sweden fastest growing company during 1996 and 1997, and finally today’s success company Wellton Way AB.
